B.I.G MONEY – Mixed media – 2020

An original and extremely unique creation paying homage to the Notorious B.I.G…

Personalised with my favourite Biggie lyrics adorned on his famous COOGI sweater. This piece is the product of lots of ideas, techniques and time. I worked on this piece for over a year. Waiting for oil layers to dry before I could do the next bit was a big part of it but also the process in applying each layer was time consuming too.

It always starts with a drawing but in this case the drawing was done in reverse..removing the paint that was smeared over another piece. I drew Christopher Wallace over another painting then went on to fill in each part of it and give it more depth. You can see some of the original style on the notes where the outlines are wiped away from the white paint underneath.
